Fabric and Materials Without a (Definitive) Project

Because I am a cost-conscious person, I like keeping track of how much money I am dedicating to my various hobbies. This page will detail any fabric or materials I have purchased or obtained that don't currently have a project associated with them. The overall goal is to limit the amount of materials and supplies purchased without some "purpose" behind them. The way to achieve this goal is, of course, to use these supplies to minimize my clutter and decrease any "unnecessary" spending.

Already Owned (from my letter-making days in 2011/2012):
  • 46 scraps/fat quarters/cuts of fabric
  • black canvas tote bag
  • natural canvas tote bag
My fabric drawer from my letter-making days

Purchased 7/31/16:
  • Patriotic "Just Us For All" fabric (3 yards) $38.97 - 40% off patriotic fabric = $23.37 (intended to make pajama pants out of this fabric, but I didn't know how to sew yet. still intend on making this fabric into pajama pants.)
Also known as "Historic Hotties" or "Patriot Porn" amongst fellow DAR members

Purchased 10/4/17:
  • Game of Thrones Cotton "Map of Westeros" fabric $11.99 --> $10.99 advertised price - $5.50 for 50% licenced character fabric = $5.49
  • 30m Gutermann Heavy-weight Flax thread $1.99 - $1.00 for 50% thread coupon = $0.99 (I bought this thread to match the map fabric with the hopes of using them for a project. I haven't decided what I want to make though. A zippered organizer? Something else?)
I'm a huge "Game of Thrones"/"A Song of Ice and Fire" fan and a big fan of maps, so this was a "must"

Freebies from 11/7/17 sewing class:
  • four random cuts of fabric
I tried to branch into different types of fabric that I have never tried before

Purchased 11/13/17:
  • Patriotic "Declaration" fabric (1yd) $12.99 - 40% off patriotic fabric - $1.56 for 20% off total purchase coupon = $6.23 (intend to make a DAR zippered carry-all with this. This would be the lining fabric.)
  • fat quarter $2.49 - $1.25 for 50% off regular-priced item coupon = $1.24 (intend to use this to make a rose pin cushion)
  • fat quarter $2.49 - $1.37 for 55% off regular-priced item coupon = $1.12 (intend to use this to make a rose pin cushion)
I saw this fabric online and thought it would be GREAT for a DAR bag, but the one I'm working on now is already taking 14 hours!
Two fat quarters I just bought with two scraps I already had that I want to make into a rose pin cushion that I found in a sewing book. The instructions in the sewing book is really hard to follow though, so I'm going to have to take it to an open lab.
TOTAL PURCHASED NOT BEING CURRENTLY USED: $38.44 (PLUS whatever I originally spent all those years ago on those fat quarters and other fabric.)
